Link Strategy, is part of the process of optimizing the website. Specifically, in link strategy we focus on the in-bound links to your website; that is, which websites are linking or referring their visitors to your website. Why is this important?
The Search Engine bots (or robots) place significant value on the value of these links. That is, if a site the Search Engines have already ranked as high has a link to your website, then you must be important too. Your ranking goes up. The effect of the increase in ranking, is that when someone does a search on a particular keyword relevant to you, your website will come up earlier in the search results.
For example, let's say you happen to have a good relationship with the IT guy at the Clinton Foundation (www.clintonfoundation.com). President Clintons's website has a Google rank of 7 out of 10 - that's good (though the White House gets a 9 out of 10). So your friend puts a link to your website from the homepage of President Clinton's website. Guess what happens to your website's ranking?
You don't have to have a friend at the Clinton Foundation or at the White House to get a good Search Enging ranking. We work with you to review your existing network, organizations with which you are affiliated, etc. to build the link strategy. The main point is that we focus on good, quality links. We do not use paid-for links or link farms since the results can be devastating if the website gets blacklisted from key search engines like Google or Yahoo.
