What do you do if your website is targeting business from other businesses, consumers and may also be looking to attract the investment community? Actually, whether they know it or not, this is the situation for many organizations. And the smarter ones recognize this fact at the time of design, not after.
Mixed audience only means that we need to design the elements to engage visitors and paths to take them through the site, based on their unique goals. Amazon, for example, certainly has a whole business community it serves, while it is best known as a B2C website. Like any storefront, the design enables the shopper, whether business or consumer, to easily and quickly follow the path that best suits their needs. Search on books? Browse office furniture? All available right from the home page with easy navigation.
