As one of Axxiem’s first clients, Cara Therapeutics already had a website that was well-designed and carefully architected for their business needs. It had won the 2006 award for Best Biotech Website from the Web Marketing Association. However, since technology and style evolve rather quickly on the web, it was beginning to look outdated, so Axxiem reached out to Cara with a recommendation that it was time for a redesign.
Axxiem developed a brand new, contemporary look and feel for the Cara website, and the site was re-coded to be compatible with modern browsers. The redesigned homepage is more visually engaging and calls attention to the products and research on which the company is currently focused. It also features an iOS-friendly slideshow, adding valuable information and visual interest to the page. The beautiful custom medical animations that we created for the original site were preserved, but many of the images used throughout the site were updated to fit with the modern style of the website.
